In five cases the surname was incorrectly written as Yoe:
1. 53-year-old Arthur W. Yoe, a meteorological and scientific instrument maker living in Wallasey, Cheshire and listed with 52-year-old Agnes L. Yoe. They are a clear match to Arthur William Yeo and Agnes Leonina Grigioni, who had married in 1913.
2. 55-year-old Blanche Yoe, a married woman living in Liskeard. She is a match to Blanche Taylor, who had married Horace Harcourt Yeo in 1922 – Horace is not listed in the same household, but is recorded as a police constable in Finchley, north London.
3. 69-year-old Charley Yoe, a pensioner living in Codrington Street, Exeter, listed with his wife Alice Maud (age 64) and children Stanley Reginald (30), Norman (34), Beatrice Maud (32) and Florence Mary (27). They are a clear match to the family of Charles Yeo and Alice Maud Southard, who had married in 1901.
4. Evelyn Stanley Yoe, who is listed in Eastbourne and working as a chauffeur. Although his year of birth is recorded as 1892, he is a clear match to Evelyn Stanley Yeo (1891–1978). Listed with him (although there is no record of his having married) is a 37-year-old married woman called Yoe, whose forename is hard to read but might be Frances.
5. 26-year-old John W. Yoe, listed in Lincolnshire, in Queens Parade, Cleethorpes with 25-year-old Olga Yoe. They are a clear match to John William Yeo and Olga Nicholson, who had married in Cleethorpes the previous year.
In the remaining nine cases the surname is written as Yeo, but has been incorrectly indexed as Yoe:
1. 78-year-old retired farmer William H.A. Yeo, living at Wyburn House, Great Torrington with 75-year-old Emily Yeo. They are a clear match for William Henry Allin Yeo (1860–1945) and his sister Emily Yeo (1864–1940).
2. 63-year-old Absalom Yeo, a builder’s mason recorded as ‘incapacitated’, living in Park Row, Okehampton with his wife Edith Yeo (age 58), daughter Winfred P. Yeo (19) and twin sons Eric C. Yeo and Stanley A. Yeo (16). They are a clear match for the family of Absalom Yeo and Edith Knott, who married in 1901.
3. 49-year-old Samuel Yeo, who is farming at West Quither, Milton Abbot (between Launceston and Tavistock) and listed with 46-year-old Helen Yeo and their children Leslie Yeo (24) and Betty Yeo (18). They are a clear match for the family of Samuel Luxmoore Yeo and Helen Loram, who married in 1914.
4. 34-year-old Frank O. Yeo, recorded in Duke Street, Kettering and described as a foreman joiner. He is listed with 28-year-old Lillian M. Yeo – they are a clear match for Frank Osborn Yeo and his wife Lilian May Cumberworth, who married in 1933.
5. 35-year-old Frank E. Yeo, a clay miner living in Kingsteignton, listed with his 35-year-old wife Lilian R. Yeo and 17-year-old daughter Daisey L. Yeo – a clear match for Frank Edward Yeo and Lily Rose May Brailey, who had married in 1921 and their daughter Daisy Lilian Yeo.
6. 65-year-old Elizabeth A. Yeo, living in Curzon Road, Bournemouth, occupation ‘unpaid domestic duties’, listed with 62-year-old John Yeo, an engine driver in a naval cordite factory. They are reasonable match to John Yeo and Elizabeth Ann Marshall, who had married in Plymouth in 1896.
7. 37-year-old Ellen Yeo, a shop assistant (with domestic duties) listed in the household of school teacher Sarah Styles at South Zeal near Okehampton.
8. 49-year-old Ernest Yeo, a single man living in Risca, Monmouthshire and working as an assistant to an ironmonger.
9. 56-year-old Samuel Yeo, a married man listed on his own in Cremyll Street, Devonport and working at the nearby Royal William Yard.
