Thomas Henry Yeo – shipwright

Please read About individuals before using any of the information on this page.

The 1939 register for Devonport lists 55-year-old Thomas H. Yeo at 21 Fore Street. He is the fourth member of the household of 62-year-old widow Edith Friend [note 1], whose sons Leonard H. Friend (age 25, a boilermaker’s labourer) and Frank E. Friend (21, an electrical fitter) are also living there.

Thomas Henry Yeo (1884–1963) is described in the Register as an ‘iron shipwright’ and appears to have been working at nearby Devonport Dockyard. He was the second son of Frederick Fullerton Yeo and Mary Jane Lock and remained a bachelor until the age of 64, when he married Edith.
