The 1939 Register for Birmingham records Frederick Yeo, a 43-year-old paver’s labourer living at 1 Sandmere Grove in the Warstock district of the city. Listed with Frederick are his wife Rose F. (age 25), four of his seven children, and two others: 18-year-old Freda Yeo [note 1] and two-year-old Dorothy P. Yeo [note 2].
Frederick Yeo (1896–1960) had married Elizabeth Annie Boucher in 1923. They had four children, including:
– Albert Edward Yeo (1924–2003, married Ida May Avery)
– Muriel Rosemary Yeo (1930–1932).
Elizabeth died in 1932 and Frederick re-married four years later. He had daughters in 1937 and 1942 with his second wife Rose Florence Webber, and a son:
– Brian Leslie Yeo (1939–2000).
