The wrong son recorded?

Joseph Yeo of South Tawton moved to Bristol. He married Lucy Butler in the Bristol parish of Bedminster on 3 April 1809 (the parish register records his surname as Yoaw). Lucy had been baptised on 18 September 1785 in the Bristol parish of St Mary Radcliffe to parents Edward and Mary Butler. See also Joseph Yeo and Sarah Thomas.

Joseph and Lucy baptised a daughter at Bedminster:
– Louisa Yeo on 25 May 1817.

They then baptised four sons at St Mary Radcliffe:
– Joseph Yeo on 22 April 1810
– George Lackland Yeo on 11 October 1818
– John Yeo on 19 June 1825 at the age of four
– Edward Yeo on 19 June 1835 at the age of eleven.

One of these sons died before his second birthday, as Carole Harkin pointed out in an email to Sheila Yeo in 2003. The parish register for St Mary Radcliffe records the burial on 29 June 1820 of ‘Joseph Yeo of Colston Street Bedminster age 21 months’ but the age of this child is a better fit for George Lackland Yeo. Should the entry have read ‘George Lackland Yeo son of Joseph Yeo of Colston Street Bedminster age 21 months’?
