Sheila Yeo explored the life of this Royal Navy officer, whose life is also covered in detail by Mike Darch and David Yaw in their researched pedigree Descendants of William Yeo and Agnes Savery.
John Yeo (1681–1756, son of William Yeo [note 1] and Susanna Youlden) was baptised at Wolborough. He married twice, having three children with his first wife Emblin Field:
– Catherine Yeo
– William Yeo (baptised 1716 at St Thomas, Exeter)
– Emblin Yeo (1719–1770, married Francis Drake).
After the death of his wife Emblin [note 2], John married Lucretia Harris at the parish church of St Andrew, Plymouth in 1724. They had five children, including:
– John Yeo (see below).
John Yeo (1726–1771, son of John Yeo and Lucretia Harris) married Alice Williams. They had three children:
– William Yeo (1750–1808, married Martha Duer)
– John Yeo (baptised 1752 at St Andrew, Plymouth)
– Elizabeth Chudleigh Yeo (1756–1837, married Thomas Mackenzie).
