Susan Yeo (1807–1888, daughter of Thomas Yeo and Elizabeth Mason) was baptised at Werrington as Susanna Yeo. She married widower John Thomas Scown [note 1] at the parish church of St Mary Magdalene, Launceston in 1832; they emigrated to Australia in 1837 on the SS Katherine Stewart Forbes.
Susan and John had two children in Cornwall – including Jane Yeo Scown (1834–1866, married Charles Toms White in 1854) –a third on the ship while they were emigrating, and a further five children in South Australia [note 2], where they settled.
