Salathiel Braund married Ann Yeo in London in 1848, at the parish church of All Souls, Langham Place.
Salathiel is recorded on their marriage certificate as a tailor, son of farmer William Braund deceased (in each case their surname is spelt Braunde). Ann’s father is recorded as William Yeo, a joiner. They were both stated to be ‘of full age’ (i.e. over 21), were living in the parish, and were previously unmarried. The witnesses were S. Braund and Maria Yeo.
Ann was baptised at a nonconformist ceremony in Devonport in 1814 to parents William Yeo and Jane Collins [note 1]. Although no record of her death has been found, she had apparently died by the time the 1861 census was taken – it records Salathiel as a widower living in Fountain Court, off the Strand in central London [note 2]. The 1871 census records Salathiel in Islington with his second wife Caroline [note 3].
