The 1871 census for West Ham records Thomas Tull, a 44-year-old labourer born at Plaistow, at 6 Abbey Lane. Listed with him are his wife Ann (age 39, also born at Plaistow) and seven children.
Thomas and Ann married at the parish church of St Sepulchre, Holborn in 1852. They were both previously unmarried and made their mark rather than signing. Ann’s father is recorded as Joseph Yeo, a labourer.
No baptism record for Ann (in or near Plaistow about 1832) has been found, and her mother has not been identified. No death or re-marriage has been found for her either.
