Isaac Burney Yeo was baptised at Devonport in 1835 to parents John Yeo and Sarah Thomas. He qualified as a doctor and subsequently specialised in respiratory medicine, working at two London teaching hospitals.
Isaac married Winifred Helen Spyers at Weybridge, Surrey in 1897; no children are recorded from this marriage.
When he died in 1914, Dr Yeo left a substantial amount of money to set up a benevolent fund for doctors and their families. This fund is still in existence, and is administered by the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund.
