William Yeo and Grace Soper

William Yeo (1809–1863) was baptised at Inwardleigh, the third son of John Yeo and Joanna Keenor and a great grandson of Isaac Yeo and Christian Weeks.

William married Grace Soper [note 1] at Broadwoodwidger in 1835. They had six children at Stowford before emigrating to Canada:
– John Yeo (1837–1880)
– William Yeo (1839–1887, married Scottish emigrant Mary Barbour, five children)
– Thomas Yeo (1841–1860)
– Isaac Yeo (born 1843, married Mary Hoskins, seven children)
– Richard Soper Yeo (1844–1844)

and settling in Ontario [note 2], where they had three further children:
– Henry Soper Yeo (see below)
– Ellen Yeo (1851–1926, married Richard Bickell Gill 1876)
– Emily Yeo (born 1855, married George Gill).

Henry Soper Yeo (1851–1906, son of William Yeo and Grace Soper) married Emily J. Stoneman in 1881. They had four children:
– Alfred Thomas Yeo (born 1882)
– Albert Henry Yeo (born 1883, married Nellie Pepper 1917)
– Franklin Leslie Yeo (1886–1952)
– Emily Mabel Luzette Yeo (1892–1969, married Cecil Henry Bowman).

2. William and Grace were buried at Staffa United Church Cemetery in Perth County, Ontario. Also commemorated on their headstone is Thomas Yeo (1800–1830), who has not been identified.
