Banns of marriage were read at Clawton and at Ashwater for ‘John Abbott carpenter of Clawton bachelor’ and ‘Elisabeth Yeo spinster’ on 31 March, 7 April and 14 April 1793.
The marriage is not recorded in the Clawton parish register and appears not to be recorded at Ashwater. Did it take place somewhere else, or not at all?
