Please read About Families before using any of the information on this page.

This couple married in 1838 at the parish church in Bradford, north Devon. Richard is recorded as a bachelor, a labourer of Priestacott, a short distance south of Bradford [note 1]. Mary is recorded a a spinster, also of Priestacott, and her father as labourer Thomas Yeo.

Can anyone identify Mary Yeo’s parents?

The 1851 census records Richard and Mary at Hole Moor, Black Torrington, where Richard is a miller. Their ages are shown as 48 and 53 respectively. Mary is recorded as Mary A. Crocker and her birthplace as Cookbury [note 2]. Francis Yeo, a 39-year-old cordwainer born at Black Torrington, is listed in the household and might have been related to Mary.
