A Poor Law order was made in 1762 against Thomas Yeaw of Hammersmith to take care of his illegitimate son. The date of birth 24 May 1761 was given for ‘the said male bastard child’, who had been baptised with the name Thomas and was a son of Elizabeth Woodfin of St Leonard, Shoreditch.
