Notes
1. The record is not clear – the boy’s forename might be Francis.
2. Baptised at St Germans with the forenames Doctor Daniel – there is no evidence of a medical connection; he worked as a painter and decorator. He and Susan married at Stoke Damerel in 1839, and moved to Scotland between 1861 and 1871. Recorded with Susan in Buckfastleigh in the 1841 census, in Ashburton in 1851, and in West Greenock in 1871. Died in Scotland later in 1871 (death registered at Greenock). No recorded children.
3. Susan was listed at 4 Nelson Street, West Greenock in the 1881 census, working as a sewing teacher. Recorded in West Greenock in the 1901 census as a widow – the only person in the household. Died in Scotland 1902 (death registered at Greenock West). Birthplace recorded as Dartmouth in the 1851 census.
4. Susan was recorded as Susanna Collicott. Maker was then in Devon, but was in Cornwall after the 1844 border realignment.
