This couple married in Port Stanley, Ontario on 6 August 1938. The record of the marriage is accompanied by an application for a marriage licence dated three days previously, which describes them both as 23 years old and previously unmarried. The groom was a gardener and the bride a tobacco worker. The groom’s parents are shown as Jack Yeo and Laura Maude Stanley.
The 1921 census records Claude Yeo living with his parents at 38 Woodworth Street in St Thomas, Ontario. Claude is 6 and has an older sister Helen Yeo, aged 9.
Claude’s father Jack Yeo appears to have been been born in Ontario about 1891 to recent Cornish immigrants William Yeo and Louisa Stoddern, whose marriage was registered at Redruth in the second quarter of 1883.
