Richard Yeo and Honor Bynes

Richard Yeo (1695–1802, son of Richard Yeo and Mary Cann) married Honor Bynes in the parish church at Holsworthy in 1738. They baptised 12 children at Holsworthy:

– Thomas Yeo (baptised 1748, married Elizabeth Pethick in Holsworthy in 1770, three children including Thomas Yeo)

– Benjamin Yeo (baptised 1755)
– Grace Yeo (baptised 1756, married John Call)
– Henry Yeo (baptised 1759, married Mary Diment)
– Anna Yeo (baptised 1761, married John Light).

John Yeo (1752–1809, son of Richard Yeo and Honor Bynes) married Susanna Rowe at Holsworthy in 1780. They baptised six children at Holsworthy:
– James Yeo (baptised 1781, married Mary Cole at Stoke Damerel in 1821, two children)
– Judith Yeo (baptised 1783)
– Susanna Yeo (baptised 1785)
– Thomas Yeo (see below)
– Mary Ann Yeo (1791–1885, married Thomas Jordan at Holsworthy in 1821)
– John Yeo (baptised 1794).

Edward Yeo (1753–1824, son of Richard Yeo and Honor Bynes) married Ann Hoskin in 1783. They had four children:
– Honor Yeo (baptised c1784)
– Richard Yeo (see below)
– James Yeo (see below)
– Ann Yeo (baptised 1789 at Holsworthy, married John Spurin).

Richard Yeo (c1785–1817, son of Edward Yeo and Ann Hoskin) moved to Plymouth and married Mary Besley. They had two children:

– Mary Harriet Yeo (1814–1881, married Richard Warn at Tamerton Foliot in 1861).

James Yeo (1786–1852, son of Edward Yeo and Ann Hoskin) moved to Plymouth and married Hannah Strugnill Saunders. They had two children:
– James Emmet Yeo (baptised 1805 at Stoke Damerel)
– Eliza Yeo (baptised 1808 at Plymouth Dock Methodist Chapel, married Horatio Taylor 1844 in London)
before moving to London [note 1], where they had three further children:
– Ann Beer Yeo (baptised 1811 at Marylebone)
Mary Harry Yeo
– Caroline Yeo (baptised 1827 at St Giles) [note 2].

Thomas Yeo (1788–1875, son of John Yeo and Susanna Rowe) married Sarah Tapp at the parish church of St Andrew, Plymouth in 1809. They baptised nine children at Stoke Damerel [note 3] before moving to London [note 4]:
– James Yeo (baptised 1811)
– Thomas Yeo (baptised 1817, appears to have died as an infant)
– Susan Yeo (baptised 1821)
– Elizabeth Yeo (1821–1822)
– Harriet Yeo (baptised 1826, married Matthew Cunningham at Stoke Damerel in 1843)
– Thomas Yeo (born 1827, baptised 1833)
– Amelia Yeo (baptised 1829)
– Sarah Jane Yeo (born 1830, baptised 1842)
– John Yeo (born 1833, baptised 1842).

Notes
1. The 1851 census for 33 Gresse Street, Marylebone records James Yeo (age 63). His unmarried daughter Caroline Yeo (age 24) is listed with him, as are two daughters of his daughter Eliza.
2. Year and place from a pedigree by Sheila Yeo. Baptism record not found.
3. List of children from research by Sheila Yeo. The three shown with years of birth have corresponding entries in the Stoke Damerel baptisms register; the other six baptisms have not been confirmed against available records. Some researchers have incorrectly assigned an additional son William Amos Yeo to this family.
4. Thomas and Sarah were buried at the City of London and Tower Hamlets Cemetery.
