John had a direct line of descent from John Yeo and Rebecca Rolle, through families at Hatherleigh, Merton and South Tawton. He was baptised at Stoke Damerel in 1806 but moved to London, where he married Emma Allamby at Christ Church, Spitalfields in 1841.
John and Emma had four children:
– John Thomas Yeo (see John Thomas Yeo and Amelia Cooper)
– Edwin Robert Yeo (born 1843)
– Emma Sophia Yeo (born 1845)
– Mary Ann Yeo (born 1847).
John’s wife Emma died in 1849 and he married for a second time. This was at St Mary, Newington in 1853 to a widow, Maria Evans. The 1861 census records them at 12 Lapon Street, Bermondsey with Maria’s son George Evans and John’s children Edward (apparently the son whose first name was registered as Edwin) and Mary Ann Yeo.
John Yeo died in 1869.
