Sheila Yeo researched this line in 1995 after contacting Robert and Susanna’s great x3 grandson Ramon Yeo.
Robert Yeo (1758–1834) was the third son of Robert Yeo and Jane Hurchill of South Tawton. He was baptised at South Tawton, and married Susanna Webber there in 1787; he and Susanna baptised seven children at South Tawton:

– Mary Yeo (1792–1815)
– Jane Yeo (1794–1870, married James Redstone at South Tawton in 1814)
– Susanna Yeo (baptised 1798, married John Coombe)
– John Yeo (see below)
– Robert Yeo (see Robert Yeo and Ann Syms)
– Joseph Yeo (see below).
William Yeo (1788–1839, son of Robert Yeo and Susanna Webber) married Jane Lee at South Tawton in 1814. They remained in the parish and baptised their six children there:

– William Yeo
– Joseph Yeo (1818–1889, married Ann Gerry) [note 1]
– Elizabeth Yeo
– Ann Yeo (1822–1862, married James Trace)
– Robert Yeo (1826–1833).
William Yeo’s wife Jane died in 1826, leaving him with several young children. There is no record of his having re-married. The 1841 census for the village of South Zeal records William’s daughter Ann Yeo in the household of schoolmaster James Yeo and his wife Ann Yeo née Jope.
John Yeo (1799–1850, son of Robert Yeo and Susanna Webber) married Jemima Way. They had four children:

– Mary Ann Yeo (1825–1903, married James Crocker at South Tawton in 1847) [note 2]
– John Yeo (baptised 1831 at South Tawton)
– William Yeo (see below).
Joseph Yeo (1805–1867, son of Robert Yeo and Susanna Webber) married twice: he first married Elizabeth Nott at South Tawton in 1826; they had one daughter:
– Ann Yeo (baptised 1826 at South Tawton, died as a child)

John Yeo (1814–1886, son of William Yeo and Jane Lee) married twice. His first marriage was to Eliza Curtis at the parish church of St Andrew, Plymouth in 1839; they had six children:
– William Richard Yeo (1843–1844)
– Elizabeth Jane Yeo (1845–1902, married George Trace)
– John Yeo (see below)
– Richard Curtis Yeo (1852–1903, emigrated to Australia in 1891, married Elizabeth Julia Wurm, three children [note 3])
– William Curtis Yeo (1854–1854)
– Eliza Ann Edgcumb Yeo (born 1857 in Yeovil, married George Allen Cook)
By 1860, John and Eliza had moved to Haydon, near Sherborne in Dorset, where John worked on the Haydon estate. They had three further children:
– Constance Amelia Yeo (1860–1880)
– Horatio James Yeo (1862–1935, moved to London and married Fanny Waldron, six children)
– Ada Yeo (1866–1866).
Eliza died at Haydon in 1876. John married Sarah Bowles two years later; there were no children from this marriage. He died at Sherborne.
James Yeo (1824–1897, son of John Yeo and Jemima Way) was baptised at Sampford Courtenay and married Elizabeth Stanbury at Sticklepath in 1847. They moved to Plymouth, where their five children were born:
– Susan Yeo (1848–1909, married William Odam)
– John Yeo (born 1851)
– Mary Ann Yeo (1857–1918)
– George William Yeo
– Alfred Yeo (see below).
William Yeo (1841–1896, son of John Yeo and Jemima Way) was baptised at Sampford Courtenay. He married Sarah Hucker, with whom he had four children:
– Elizabeth Hucker Yeo (1865–1953, married James Reddaway)
– William John Yeo (1866–1925)
– Frederick Yeo (1868–1951, married Lena Wellington and Annie Mary Hunt)
– Ernest Edmund Yeo (1870–1873).
John Yeo (1848–1911 [note 4], son of John Yeo and Eliza Curtis) married Marie Julia Meinen at Haydon in 1877; they had no children and Marie died the following year. In 1883, John married Annie Rodwell at Burton on Trent, Staffordshire; they had a son:
– Moritz Rodwell Yeo (see below).
Alfred Yeo (1864–1950, son of James Yeo and Elizabeth Stanbury, married Evelina Tregillus at Horrabridge in 1895. They had two children:
– Barbara Gray Yeo (1903–2001, married William Hamilton Gordon Davy)
– Jack Stanbury Yeo (1906–1989, married Vera Lauderdale Normington).
Moritz Rodwell Yeo (1884–1971, son of John Yeo and Annie Rodwell) [note 5] married Flora Irma Macfarlane, with whom he had a son:
– John Maurice Macfarlane Yeo (1916–1944) [note 6].

Notes
1. Ann was baptised at Ashwater in 1827. After Joseph’s death, she lived in Plymouth, although the 1901 census records her visiting her sister Jane Gerry at Broadwoodwidger and she died there in 1904. Ann’s death certificate shows Jane as the informant and records Ann as the widow of ‘Joseph Yeo, manager of flour mill’.
2. Mary Ann was buried at the Quaker burial ground in Sticklepath. She has been confused by some researchers with Mary Ann Yeo née Knapman, who drowned in Plymouth Sound in 1903.
3. Including Walter Lindley Yeo, who married Nellie Mabel Dormer in Lancashire in 1916 while serving with the Australian army.
4. John’s death was registered at the British consulate in Madeira. It is likely that he was a mariner.
5. Moritz was awarded the King George V Silver Jubilee Medal in 1935, when he was recorded as a Lieutenant in the Royal Marines.
