Gordon Charles Yeo was born in London in 1920. His parents Arthur James Yeo (1887–1949) and Lisle Alice Walter had married there in 1911.
Gordon emigrated to South Africa with his parents in 1923, and married Lois Eleanora Bishop at Durban in 1942.
In the 1923 emigration record, Arthur Yeo’s occupation is given as ‘engineer’ and his address as 118 Robert Street, Plumstead. Further children Leslie (age 10), Ronald (8), Kenneth (6) and Stanley (seven months) are also listed.
