John Yeo (1792–1860, son of Michael Yeo and Sarah Jones [note 1]) married Catherine Shambaugh in Virginia in 1814. There is no record of any children from this marriage. After Catherine’s death, John married Elizabeth Balthis in Virginia in 1825. They had seven children:
– Sarah Jane Yeo (born 1837, married James Carbach and Allen Stephens Gaddis)
– Mary Katherine Yeo (1830–1913, married Jonathan Oglesbee)
– Martha E. Yeo (1834–1869, married Noah Hawkins)
– Joshua Leonard Yeo (1839–1910, married Elizabeth Smith and Alia G. Chambliss, three daughters from first marriage [note 2])
– William H. Yeo (1842–1909, daughter Bertha Augusta Yeo, 1884–1961, married Orlie Clayton Rahn)
– Analiza Yeo (1844–1920, married Clinton Antrim)
– Emma Yeo (1846–1916).

1. Parents and children from a 2004 pedigree by Mary Hummell. See the notes at Joshua Yeo and Alice Duffy. Mary uses the spelling Yeo throughout, but it is likely that some of the earlier American records use the spelling Yoe.
