Previous research by Sheila Yeo with Carl Pontifex and Marion McQuay traced this family’s line of descent from Devon emigrants William Yeo and Jane Fanson, who married at Pancrasweek in 1824.
Albert Ernest Yeo (1869–1949 [note 1], son of James Henry Yeo and Mary Ann Jewell) married Mary Ann Angst at Treherne, Manitoba in 1891 [note 2]. They had three children:
– Gertrude May Yeo (1894–1987, married Frank Ernest Pontifex)
– Mary Elizabeth Yeo (1897–1990, married John Samuel Bridal)
– Albert James Solomon Yeo (see below).
Albert James Solomon Yeo (1901–1989, son of Albert Ernest Yeo and Mary Ann Angst) married twice. He first married Margaret Helen Sutherland at Cypress River, Manitoba in 1926. They had two children:
– Florence Helen Yeo (1928–2010, married Bryan Herman Arason)
– Russell James Yeo (1933–2009, married 1955).
Albert’s second marriage was at Winnipeg in 1962 to Edith Lilian Helgason née Foster.

2. The 1901 census for Argyle, Manitoba lists Albert as a 30-year-old farmer. With him are his wife Mary Ann (recorded as Maria) and their two daughters. Their son was born later that year.
