According to research by Humphrey Toms and Reg Walter in 1968, William Yeo, a grandson of Hugh Yeo of Fairlinch, Braunton, married Margaret Smyth at the parish church of St Peter in Barnstaple in 1575. They had thirteen children, including:
– John Yeo (1575–1622, married Alse Howe, one son)
– Philip Yeo (1577–1609, married Johane Mayne, no children recorded)
– William Yeo (see below).
William Yeo, a great grandson of Hugh Yeo of Fairlinch, Braunton, was baptised at Barnstaple in 1578. He married Mary Deyman or Dyngman at Barnstaple in 1607 and their five children were baptised at Barnstaple between 1608 and 1615. According to research by Humphrey Toms, Mary married into the Burgoyne family after William’s death.
