David Yeo (1843–1914) was the youngest of six children of Thomas Yeo and Maria Roberts.
David’s father Thomas Yeo had been baptised at St Peter, Barnstaple in 1791 to parents Thomas Yeo and Joan Dennis, and had married Maria Roberts at the parish church of St Justinian in Freystrop, Pembrokeshire on 21 March 1832.
David married Eliza Bevan in Swansea in 1865. They had nine children:
– Robert Yeo (1886–1932, married Gwen Davies, three children)
– Maria Yeo (1868–1898)
– David Yeo (1871–1871)
– Elizabeth Yeo (born 1873)
– Edith Yeo (born 1875)
– William Yeo (1877–1965, married Annie Squires, four daughters)
– Minnie Yeo (born 1879)
– Sarah Yeo (born 1883)
– Margaret Jane Yeo (born 1887).
The 1891 census for Swansea records David and Eliza at 1 Inkerman Street. David is a 47-year-old dock labourer, whose birthplace is given as Freystrop. Eliza is 45 and their children Elizabeth (age 18), William (13), Minnie (11), Sarah (8) and Margaret (4) are listed with them.
