William Yeo [note 1] was a prominent figure in Totnes. He married Agnes Savery about 1580; they baptised six children at Totnes:
– William Yeo (1583–1630, married Catheren Michelmore in 1608 at Newton Ferrers)
– George Yeo (see below)
– Richard Yeo (1586–1655, married Elizabeth Lant, eight children, died in Exeter)
– Nicholas Yeo (baptised 1587)
– Robert Yeo (baptised 1590)
– Mary Yeo (baptised 1593).
George Yeo (baptised 1584, son of William Yeo and Agnes Savery) married Susan Tillard [note 2] about 1614. They baptised four children at Totnes:
– George Yeo (1615–1668, married Margaret Curson, at least five children)
– William Yeo
– Philip Yeo (1618–1619)
– Agnes Yeo (1620–c1670, married Anthony Down [note 3]).

Notes
1. c1552–1612. Research in the 1960s by Humphrey Toms and Reg Walter suggested that William was a son or grandson of John Yeo and Ann Honeychurch, or a son of Leonard Yeo (1508–1596, MP for Totnes) and his second wife Dionesia Dotyn. Both options accord broadly with speculation by Darch and Yaw in their researched pedigree. Sheila Yeo recorded William’s parents as William and Margaret Yeo, though without providing supporting evidence.
2. 1589–1663, baptised at Totnes in 1589 as Susana Tyllerd.
3. Antony was vicar of Northam, where his wife’s aunt Susan Yeo was buried. Perhaps Susan lived with Anthony and Agnes after she was widowed.
