As recorded in Descendants of Thomas Yea of Yea, Wiveliscombe, a Tiverton newspaper announced the death in France on 11 March 1915 of Private John Yeo of the Devonshire Regiment.
John had previously served in South Africa and India. He was the second of nine children of George Yaw and Maria Warren of Silverton.
