Henry Ellis Yeo White was baptised at Christ Church in the Yorkshire city of Bradford in 1888. His parents are recorded in the parish register as William Henry White and Mildred Alice White, living at 39 Manningham Lane. Henry’s father was a doctor; his mother had been born Mildred Alice Day in 1866.
Henry Ellis Yeo White married Adelaide Napier at Portsmouth in 1921 and went on to have a distinguished medical career in the Navy. He was promoted to the rank of Surgeon Rear Admiral, was knighted and received several other honours. He died in 1976 at the age of 88.
