Richard Yeo was baptised at St Stephen, near Launceston in 1819 to parents Humphrey and Elizabeth Yeo [note 1].
On 2 January 1844, Richard was tried at Bodmin Quarter Sessions for housebreaking and theft. He was found guilty, sentenced to transportation for ten years, and sent to Tasmania the following year [note 2].

1. Richard’s grandparents Richard Yeo and Loveday Holman had married at St Stephen in 1779.
