Joseph Wildblood Yeo (1891–1957) [note 1] was born at Houghton le Spring in County Durham to parents Thomas Yeo and Elizabeth Ann Wildblood. He Ethel Nearey in Durham in 1914. They had nine children [note 2]:

– Joseph Wildblood Yeo (1915–1916)
– George Henry Yeo (1917–1976, married Muriel Dawson, three children)
– Thomas Henry Yeo
– Ellen Yeo (1919–2008)
– Mary Elizabeth Yeo (1921–1990, married William Berry Hayes)
– Ethel Yeo (1924–1924)
– Thomas Yeo (1925–1925)
– Grace Yeo (1930–2018, married Ernest Edward Swinbank).

Notes
1. Birth registered as Joseph Wildblood Yao. The Sunderland Echo for 4 February 1957 published an announcement of Joseph’s death two days previously at the age of 65. He was buried at Houghton Cemetery.
2. The 1921 census records Joseph and Ethel at Old Penshaw – Joseph’s occupation is given as a miner and coal cutter, and only their children George and Ellen are listed with them. The 1939 Register records the family at Houghton le Spring, where 41-year-old Joseph is working as a coal miner.
