Joseph Wildblood Yeo was born at Houghton-le-Spring in County Durham in 1891. For his parents Thomas Yeo and Elizabeth Ann Wildblood see Thomas Brown or Yeo.
Joseph married Ethel Neary in Durham in 1914. They had seven children:
– Joseph Wildblood Yeo (born 1915, died as an infant)
– George Henry Yeo (1917–1976, married Muriel Dawson in 1956, three children)
– Ellen Yeo (born 1919)
– Mary Elizabeth Yeo (1921–1990, married William Berry Hayes in 1976)
– Ethel Yeo (born 1924, died as an infant)
– Thomas Yeo (born 1925, died as an infant)
– Grace Yeo (born 1930, married Ernest Edward Swinbank in 1951).
The 1939 register records the family at Houghton-le-Spring, where 41-year-old Joseph is working as a coal miner. The Sunderland Echo for 4 February 1957 published an announcement of Joseph’s death two days previously at the age of 65; he was buried at Houghton Cemetery on 5 February.
