John Yeo (1793–1876) was the eldest of four sons of John Yeo and Elizabeth Punchard of Atherington. He married Margery Stacey at Tawstock in 1821. This pedigree of their family is based on research by Sheila Yeo.
John and Margery lived at Tawstock and later at Fremington, and had seven children:

– Elizabeth Yeo (baptised 1827 at Tawstock, married William Squire)
– Henry Yeo (born c1827)
– Thomas Yeo (see below)
– James Yeo (born c1832)
– Mary Yeo (born c1835, married Thomas Squire).
Thomas Yeo (1830–1883, son of John Yeo and Margery Stacey) married twice. He married Ann Janes at Tawstock in 1852; they had two children before Ann’s death in 1872:

– Elizabeth Yeo (born Tawstock 1857).
Thomas’s second marriage was to Mary Hartnoll at Tawstock in 1874. They had four children:
– George Yeo (1874–1900 [note 1], married Louisa Joslin, son William Francis Yeo, see below)
– Thomas Yeo (1876–1947, married Eliza Pike)
– Emily Yeo (1878–1958, married William Henry Baker)
– Annie Yeo (1881–1979, married Arthur Goddard and Frederick Bennett).
William Yeo (baptised 1821, son of John Yeo and Margery Stacey) married Maria Fisher in 1842. They had six children:
– Mary Maria Yeo (1843–1866, married James Essery)
– Thomas Yeo (born 1845)
– Elizabeth Yeo (born 1847)

– James Yeo (see below).
William Yeo (1850–1935, son of William Yeo and Maria Fisher) married Mary Harris. They had five children:

– Elizabeth Ann Yeo (1872–1872)
– Arthur George Yeo (1873–1956, married Ada Eliza Paynter and Agnes Rudd née Patt)
– John Yeo
– Catherine Ann Yeo (1878–1948, married George Hall).
John Yeo (1852–1914, son of William Yeo and Maria Fisher) married Bessie Shepherd in 1878. They had five children:
– William John Yeo (born 1879)
– Emma Chappell Yeo (1881–1930, married Mortimer Henry Kelly)
– Mary Elizabeth Yeo (born 1883, married Albert Edward Dowell)
– Thomas Henry Yeo (1886–1930, married Margaret Annie Burton née Faulkner)
– Bessie Shepherd Yeo (born 1889).
James Yeo (born 1853 at Tawstock, son of Thomas Yeo and Ann Janes) married Mary Ann Palmer at Tawstock in 1873. They had four children:

– Grace Yeo (1880–1944, married Charles Edward Turner)
– Thomas Yeo (1883–1883)
– Eliza Yeo (1883–1963).
James Yeo (1855–1909, son of William Yeo and Maria Fisher) married Caroline Hill. They had four children:
– Charles John Yeo
– Mary Maria Yeo (born 1877 at Bishops Tawton)
– Louisa Florence Yeo (1880–1954)
– Eliza Yeo.
Absalom James Yeo (1875–1947, son of James Yeo and Mary Ann Palmer) married Edith Knott. They had eight children:
– Elsie Gladys Yeo (1902–1970, married Francis Charles Weeks)
– William James Yeo (1904–1944, see War deaths)
– Absalom John Yeo (1906–1991, married Cecilia Hilda Cora Salt) [note 2]
– Ethel Gwendoline Yeo (1909–2007, married Francis Hellyer Cowling)
– Winifred Pearl Yeo (1920–1998, married Jack Tucker)
– Lily Daisy Yeo (born 1922, married 1942)
– Eric Charles Yeo (1923–2000, married Greta May White)
– Stanley Arthur Yeo (1923–1984, twin brother of Eric).
William Francis Yeo (1896–1964, son of George Yeo and Louisa Joslin) emigrated to South Africa and married Mollie Taylor. They had one son:
– Peter Douglas Yeo (1931–2006).
