Ralph Yeo Sketch was born in Penarth, Glamorganshire in 1877 to parents James Chappell Sketch and Victoria Ellen Griffiths. He married Margaret Gladys Martin in Wales 1902 and later emigrated to South Africa – he died in Cape Town in 1962.
Ralph and Margaret had a son Gerald Yeo Martin Sketch (1903–1978), who married Aileeen Mary Battersby in Barnet, Hertfordshire in 1928. The 1939 Register records them in Maldon, Essex, where Gerald is a 36-year-old fruit farmer. He was living in Norwich at the time of his death.
