The Cornish Guardian published a brief report on 3 October 1940 of the funeral of Elizabeth Rosewall, held at the Methodist Church at St Newlyn East near Newquay. The report describes her as the 78-year-old widow of Josiah Rosewall. The published list of mourners includes Elizabeth’s brother Mr S. Yeo (see below), who was unable to attend.
Elizabeth Mary Yeo was born at Duloe in 1862 to parents Thomas Henry Yeo [note 1] and Ann Meech. Elizabeth had a son Ernest Stanley Yeo [note 2] before marrying Josiah Rosewall in 1900.
Thomas and Ann’s three other children were:
– Catherine Meech Yeo (born 1863)
– Samuel Yeo (1866–1945, married Elizabeth Jane Ede, son Llewellyn Yeo)
– William Henry Yeo (1868–1890).
Ann later married Charles Barnecutt in 1880. No record of her death has been found.
