The 1921 census for Swindon records widower Abraham G. Yeo at 61 Redcliffe Street. He is a 66-year-old widower born at nearby Brinkworth and works as a platelayer for the Great Western Railway Company.
Also in Abraham’s household are his 26-year-old daughter-in-law Ethel M. Yeo [note 1] with her children Thomas E.T. Yeo (age 2) and William G. Yeo (age 1), and Abraham’s son John H. Yeo, an unmarried 22-year-old boilermaker’s apprentice also working for the Great Western Railway Company.
Abraham George Yeo had married Emma Elizabeth Scourfield in south Wales in 1887. Emma died in 1910, having given birth to six children between 1888 and 1899 [note 2].
