Marian Evelina Ridout was born in the Bloomsbury area of central London in 1860, her birth registered in the Strand district in the second quarter of the year. Her parents have not been identified but her mother’s birth surname is recorded as Harrison.
When Marian married James Yeo (1860–1910) at the parish church of St Gabriel, Pimlico in 1889 and when she died in 1912 her forenames were recorded as Marion Elizabeth.
She and James had three children:
– James Frederick Yeo (1890–1958, married Hilda Violet Edith Cove Robbins and Nancy Forehead, six children)
– Amy Marian Yeo (1892–1908)
– Albert Edward Yeo (1903–1978, emigrated to Canada, married Birdie Evelyn Ferguson, four children).
