Marian Evelina Ridout was born at 13 Litchfield Street in the Soho area of central London on 11 May 1860 [note 1].
When Marian married James Yeo [note 2] at the parish church of St Gabriel, Pimlico in 1889 and when she died in 1912 her forenames were recorded as Marion Elizabeth.
She and James had three children:
– James Frederick Yeo (see below)
– Amy Marian Yeo (1892–1908) [note 3]
– Albert Edward Yeo (see below).
James Frederick Yeo (1890–1958, son of James Yeo and Marian Evelina Ridout) married twice. He had three children with his first wife Hilda Violet Edith Cove Robbins:
– Hilda Cove Yeo (1916–1997, married Sidney James Long and Henry James Goff)
– James Frederick Yeo (1918–1919)
– Emily May Yeo (1919–1920)
and three with his second wife Nancy Forehead, including:
– Hilary Rosalind Primrose Charlotte Yeo (1937–2007)
– Jocelyn James Yeo (1940–2023, married 1961).
Albert Edward Yeo (1903–1978, son of James Yeo and Marian Evelina Ridout) emigrated to Canada and settled in Saskatchewan, where he married Birdie Evelyn Ferguson. They had five children:
– Mary Ellen Yeo (1932–2017)
– Frederick Henry Yeo (1933–1987 [note 4], married Jeanette Evelyn Macmillan in 1952)
– Amy Violet Yeo (1934–2012)
– Albert Raymond Yeo (1935–2014)
– Henry David Yeo (c1937–c2020).

1. Marian’s birth was registered in the Strand registration district. Her birth certificate records her parents as Thomas Ridout (a ‘light porter’) and Elizabeth Ridout, formerly Hamilton.
2. Second son of William Alexander Yeo and Frances Esther Hubbard.
3. Recorded as Annie Marian Yeo in the 1901 census.
4. Also recorded as Henry Frederick Yeo. Recorded as Warren Yeo when he married,
