Please read About individuals before using any of the information on this page.

Porter Yeo is first recorded in the 1880 census for Des Moines, Iowa at the age of five months. He is listed as the only child of E.S. and Ellen L. Yeo at 800 South Main Street in the district of Burlington. The census describes Edgar as a 27-year-old iron moulder.

Edgar S. Yeo was born in New York state and had married Ellen Louisa Long in 1877. The couple went on to have four more children:
– Clarence Robinson Yeo (1882–1943, married Leander Bernice Skinner)
– Anna Frances Yeo (1886–1936)
– Frank Leroy Yeo (1893–1944, married Nellie Marguerite Bush)
– Ruth Hazel Yeo (1896–1981).

Porter Yeo died in Kansas City in 1927 at the age of 47. His death certificate records his date of birth as 14 January 1880, his marital status as single and his occupation as laundry worker.

He appears to have been named after his maternal grandfather Porter H. Long.
