Thomas Yeo was born at Duloe in 1856. Some way from home, he married Hannah Maria Job at Christ Church, Plymouth in 1880 [note 1]. They lived nearer Thomas’s roots at St Cleer, and their four children were born there:
– Evangeline Yeo (1881–1963, married William Bulley) [note 2]
– Lucy Yeo (1883–1966, married George Henry Osborne)
– Annie Yeo (born 1884, married Percy James Foster Ford)
– William Thomas Yeo (1886–1908)
– Jessie Yeo (1888–1889)
– Frederick Yeo (1893–1893).
By the time the 1891 census was taken, the family had moved to Lewarne Lodge at St Neot, where Thomas is recorded as a general labourer.

1. No death record has been found for Thomas or Hannah Maria (who was known to family as Anna).
2. Evangeline married William Bulley in 1907, but the 1939 Register records her in Newton Abbot as Eva Mudge, living with George Mudge. Her surname was recorded as Mudge when her death was registered in 1963, but there is no record of a second marriage for her.
