Rodney Silk sent information about this family to Sheila Yeo in 2007; his information has since been expanded from further research and with details supplied by other correspondents.
Jacob Yeo (1781–1871) was baptised at Lydiard Millicent in Wiltshire, a great grandson of Daniel Yeo and Barbara Easton of the same parish. He moved to London and married Ann Reader in Stepney in 1807. They baptised eight children at West Ham:
– Rachel Yeo (1807–1869, married Timothy Clark at St Paul, Shadwell in 1831)
– Jacob Yeo (see below)
– Jane Yeo (1811–1901, married George Harris at St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney in 1834)
– Eleanor Yeo (1813–1901, married Samuel Cotton at St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney in 1834) [note 1]
– Mary Yeo (1815–1883, married Charles William Hofman at St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney in 1841)
– Ann Yeo (1817–1886, married Alfred Dunn in 1845)
– Sarah Yeo (1819–1894, married John Casmear Banner at St Clement Danes, Westminster in 1841)
– Elizabeth Yeo (1822–1823)
followed by two children at East Ham [note 2]:
– Daniel Yeo (1824–1824)
– James Yeo (see below).
Jacob Yeo (1809–1843, son of Jacob Yeo and Ann Reader) [note 3] married Mary Leary at St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney in 1834; they lived at Stratford and had five children:
– Ann Yeo (1837–1907, married Felix Barnaby Canneaux)
– Thomas Yeo (1840–1893, married Jane Margaret Wright, seven children)
– Emma Yeo (1842–1935) [note 4]
– Joseph Yeo (see below)
– Arthur Jacob Yeo (see below).
The 1861 census for West Ham records Mary as a housekeeper, living at 4 Bridge Place with her sons Thomas and Arthur.
James Yeo (1825–1880, son of Jacob Yeo and Ann Reader) married twice. His first marriage was to Mary Ann Wimshurst [note 5] in Stepney in 1849. They had eight children:

James later married Hannah Jones née Johnson [note 6] in Hackney in 1880. No children are recorded from this marriage, and James died shortly afterwards.
Joseph Yeo (born 1842, son of Jacob Yeo and Mary Leary) married Sophia Jane Williams. They had nine sons [note 7]:
– Joseph William Yeo (born 1864, emigrated to the United States)
– Arthur James Yeo (born 1867, emigrated to the United States)
– Walter Henry Yeo (born 1869, emigrated to the United States, had four children with his wife Margaret).
– Thomas John Yeo (born 1870, emigrated to the United States)
– Frederick Charles Yeo (born 1871)
– Ernest Edwin Yeo (born 1872)
– George Victor Yeo (born 1875)
– William Francis Yeo (1875–1953, married Edith Howard)

Arthur Jacob Yeo (1843–1900, son of Jacob Yeo and Mary Leary) married Susannah Louise Ravenhill; they had 12 children:

– Annie Marian Yeo (born 1874)
– Susannah Louise Yeo (1876–1945, married William George Long)
– Mary Yeo (1878–1944, married Henry James Finch)

William Jacob Yeo (1852–1884, son of James Yeo and Mary Ann Wimshurst) married Helen Amata Choat [note 10] in Hackney in 1873. They had six children:

– Alfred Edward Yeo (born 1878, married Caroline Clara Church, three children)
– Edith Mary Yeo (born 1879, married Thomas Futrill)
– Isabella Jessie Yeo (1881–1963, married Arthur Leonard Blowers)
– Winifred Helen Yeo (1887–1958, married Arthur Yates).
William Henry Yeo (1876–1954, son of William Jacob Yeo and Helen Amata Choat) married Alice Maud Freeman at Islington in 1902. They had five children:
– Winifred Ellen Amata Yeo (1902–1983, married Charles Hilton Byart)
– Alice Marion Yeo (1905–1986, married Frederick Charles Silk)
– Hilda Kathleen Yeo (1909–1960, married Alexander Buck)
– William Francis Yeo
– Leslie Alexander Yeo.
Charles Edmond Yeo (1877–1963, son of Joseph Yeo and Sophia Jane Williams) emigrated to the United States. He married Irish-born Delia Wynn in New York City in 1907; they had two daughters:
– Frances Irene Yeo (1909–1952, married Marvin Wilson Stanfield)
– Mildred J. Yeo (born 1911).

Notes
1. Jane and Eleanor married on the same day.
2. Surname recorded as Yoe in their baptism records.
3. Dates and parents from research by Sheila Yeo. Recorded by some researchers as a son of John Yeo and Elizabeth Goodchap.
4. The 1911 census records Emma at 32 Half Moon Lane, Herne Hill as a cook in the household of Emma Sarah Tidy. The 1921 census lists her at 261 Cricklewood Lane, Barnet in the household of Thomas George Tooke, erroneously recorded as his aunt.
5. 1829–1873, baptised at Rotherhide to parents William James Wimshurst and Mary Ann Harvey. Her surname is often incorrectly transcribed as Winshurst.
6. Widow of John Salmon Jones (married 1856). No record of Hannah’s death has been found, and it is possible that she married for a third time.
7. Sheila Yeo researched this family and found no record of any daughters. Sophia died in 1878. No record of Joseph’s death has been found; did he emigrate to the United States to live with one of his sons?
8. Recorded as Maud Yeo in the 1891 census for Enfield.
9. Sidney died in France while serving with the East Surrey Regiment, see War deaths.
10. Helen was born in 1849 to parents Edward Choat and Isabella Blain; her surname has also been recorded as Chout or Choate. After William’s death she married Michael Walters in 1894. Helen died in 1914 at the age of 64 – her age was incorrectly recorded as 66 when her death was registered.
