Notes
1. Rachel, Jacob, Jane, Eleanor, Mary, Ann, Sarah and Elizabeth were baptised at West Ham. Daniel and James were baptised at East Ham, with their surname recorded as Yoe.
2. Some researchers have confused Jacob with the Jacob Yeo who married Mary Leary in 1834.
3. Spelling of surname from marriage certificate. Also recored as Berner.
4. 1839–1873, baptised at Rotherhide to parents William James Wimshurst and Mary Ann Harvey. Her surname is often incorrectly transcribed as Winshurst.
5. Widow of John Salmon Jones, who she married in 1856. No record of Hannah’s death has been found, and it is possible that she married for a third time.
6. Helen was born in 1849 to parents Edward Choat and Isabella Blain; her surname has been incorrectly transcribed as Chout or Choate. After William’s death she married Michael Walters in 1894. Helen died in 1914 at the age of 64, her age incorrectly recorded as 66 when her death was registered.
