Peter Yeo and Hannah Martin married at in Lifton in 1785. Peter is described as a sojourner, and appears to have been living in Tavistock, which is where their six children were baptised:
– John Yeo (baptised 1791)
– Sally Yeo (1792–1858, married Peter Yeo at Tavistock in 1834)
– Susannah Yeo (1795–1867, married James Stockman Hamlyn in Plymouth in 1819)
– Philip Yeo (see below)
– Peter Yeo (see below)
– Priscilla Martin Yeo (1806–1851, married James Launder at Tavistock in 1828).
Philip Yeo (1798–1838, son of Peter Yeo and Hannah Martin [note 1]) married Elizabeth Daniels in Bristol in 1822. They had two daughters:
– Priscilla Yeo (baptised 1823 at Bideford)
– Margaret Yeo (baptised 1825 at St Peter, Barnstaple).
Peter Yeo (1803–1858, son of Peter Yeo and Hannah Martin) married Mary Ann Irish [note 2] at St Augustine, Bristol in 1827. They moved to London, where they had four children:
– Margaret Sarah Yeo (see below)
– Mary Ann Yeo (1830–1883, married James Alfred Williams)
– Hannah Yeo (1831–1858)
– Eliza Yeo (1837–1858).
They returned to Bristol [note 3], where they had five more children before emigrating to Australia in the early 1850s and settling in Victoria:
– Matilda Yeo (1840–1919)
– John Yeo (1842–1842)
– Ellen Maria Yeo (born 1844, married Frederick Williams in 1863)
– Peter Philip William Yeo (see below)
– Eva Florence Yeo (1853–1856).
Margaret Sarah Yeo (1828–1854, daughter of Peter Yeo and Mary Ann Irish) married John Nichols at St Andrew, Clifton in 1848. They emigrated to Australia with their three children, who included:
– Margaret Sarah Yeo Nichols (1852–1937, married Charles Bearne Stabb in Victoria in 1877).
Peter Philip William Yeo (1848–1887 [note 4], son of Peter Yeo and Mary Ann Irish) married Susanna Craig George at Melbourne in 1875. They had four children:
– Minnie Florence Yeo (1875–1955, married Andrew Alexander Watters at Coolgardie, Western Australia in 1897)
– Peter George Yeo (born 1878)
– Herbert Leslie Yeo (1880–1951, married Amy Hewes at Hay, New South Wales in 1917 and Gwen Maud Jones at Ryde, New South Wales in 1946)
– Arthur Yeo (born 1886).

3. The 1851 census lists Peter and Mary Ann at 12 Park Street in the St Augustine district of Bristol. Peter is recorded as a tailor; Peter’s 28-year-old niece Margaret Yeo is included in the household, as are Peter’s children Mary Ann (age 20), Matilda Yeo (10), Ellen Yeo (5) and Peter Yeo (3).
