Peter Yeo and Hannah Martin married at the parish church in Lifton in 1785. Peter is described as a sojourner, and appears to have been living in Tavistock, which is where their five children were baptised:
– John Yeo (baptised 1791)
– Sally Yeo (baptised 1792, married Peter Yeo at Tavistock in 1834) [note 1]
– Susannah Yeo (baptised 1795, married James Stockman Hamlyn in Plymouth in 1819)
– Philip Yeo (1798–1838, married Elizabeth Daniels, two daughters) [note 2]
– Peter Yeo (see below).
Peter Yeo (1803–1858, son of Peter Yeo and Hannah Martin) married Mary Ann Irish at the parish church of St Augustine, Bristol in 1827. They had eight children before emigrating to Australia in the early 1850s [note 3]:
– Margaret Sarah Yeo (see below)
– Mary Ann Yeo (1830–1883, married James Alfred Williams)
– Hannah Yeo (1831–1858)
– Eliza Yeo (1837–1858)
– Matilda Yeo (1840–1919)
– Ellen Maria Yeo (born 1844)
– Peter Philip William Yeo (see below)
– Eva Florence Yeo (1853–1856).
Margaret Sarah Yeo (1828–1854, daughter of Peter Yeo and Mary Ann Irish) married John Nichols at the parish church of St Andrew, Clifton on 1848. They emigrated to Australia with their three children, including:
– Margaret Sarah Yeo Nichols (1852–1937, married Charles Bearne Stabb).
Peter Philip William Yeo (1848–1887 [note 4], married Susanna Craig George at Melbourne in 1875. They had four children:
– Minnie Florence Yeo (1875–1955, married Andrew Alexander Watters)
– Peter George Yeo (born 1878)
– Herbert Leslie Yeo (1880–1951, married Amy Hews and Gwen Maud Jones)
– Arthur Yeo (born 1886).

1. According to Sheila’s correspondent, Peter Yeo was Sally’s first cousin. His parents were Peter Yeo and Elizabeth Warne.

3. The 1851 census lists Peter and Mary Ann at 12 Park Street in the St Augustine district of Bristol. Peter is recorded as a tailor; Peter’s 28-year-old niece Margaret Yeo is included in the household, as are Peter’s children Mary Ann (age 20), Matilda Yeo (10), Ellen Yeo (5) and Peter Yeo (3).
