Owen Stanley Yeo and Grace Johns

The 1939 Register records this couple living at 3 Crane Road in Camborne. Owen is a 42-year-old iron moulder, and Grace is 41. Their recently married 21-year-old daughter Sylvia Mitchell is living with them, although her husband is not recorded.

Owen was the fifth of eight children of Lewis Yeo and Eliza Craze [note 1]. He was born in 1896 (birth registered as Stanley Yeo) and died in 1949 (death registered as Stanley Owen Yeo).

Owen was buried in the parish churchyard at Camborne – his headstone bears the name Owen Stanley Yeo. Grace died in 1970 and is commemorated on the same headstone.

Owen and Grace had married in 1916. Sylvia Yeo (1918–1959) was their only child; she married Leonard Mitchell in 1939.

His brothers and sisters were Beatrice Violet Yeo (1890–1974, married Sidney Gilbert Wales, died in the United States), Ethel Maud Yeo (1891–1976, married Charles Percival Gale), May Yeo (born 1893), William Telfer Yeo (born 1894), Leonard Yeo (1898–1965, died in the United States), Hettie Yeo (1900–1993, married Richard John Hawes and Alfred Hampton) and Mabel Yeo (1903–1995, married Herbert Trewren). The family is listed in Camborne in the 1901 census, with Lewis’s occupation recorded as a tin dresser.
