William Yeo and Rosamond Green

Please read About Families before using any of the information on this page.

William Yeo (1816–1886, son of Robert Yeo and Jane Lee) was baptised at South Tawton. He married Rosamond Green at Tedburn St Mary in 1838.

The first of William and Rosamond’s children was born in Devon:
– Jane Yeo (1838–1925 [note 1], emigrated with her parents, married James Rogers).
They then emigrated to Pennsylvania, where they had nine further children:
– Samuel Yeo (see below)
– Mary Yeo (born 1843)
– Rebecca Yeo (born 1846)
– John Yeo (born 1847, seven children)
– Sarah Yeo (born 1848)
– William John Yeo (see below)
– Maria Yeo (born 1850)
– Jacob Yeo (born 1852, three children)
– Emma Yeo (born 1885).

Samuel Yeo (son of William Yeo and Rosamond Green) appears to have been born about 1840 but there is no corresponding English birth registration. So perhaps he was born during or after his parents’ emigration. He appears to have had a wife called Sarah, and to have had six children in Pennsylvania.

William John Yeo (1848–1917, son of William Yeo and Rosamond Green) married Phoebe Thompson Banfield. They had four children:
– William George Yeo (1872–1964, died in Los Angeles)
– Emma M. Yeo (1874–1935) [note 2]
– Edith Yeo (1876–1946, married James Heaton) [note 3]
– Harry Yeo (1880–1936, married Elizabeth Shackleton, three children).

Notes
1. Born at Bridestowe. Jane’s headstone in Pennsylvania shows an incorrect birth year of 1841.
2. Sheila Yeo recorded a marriage for Emma in Indiana in 1908 to Herman Barber, but her death certificate describes her as single.
3. Son James Yeo Heaton (1914–1998, married Floie Carr Henderson).
