William Henry Yeo was born in Seneca County, New York in 1839. He was the youngest of four sons of Thomas Buren Yeo (1815–1872).
William and Elizabeth married at Waterloo in Seneca County in 1867, but the 1880 U.S. census records them in Des Moines, Iowa, where William’s occupation is recorded as a moulder.
William and Elizabeth had by 1900 moved to Chicago. The 1900 census records William there, as a 59-year-old iron moulder; his wife is listed as Libbie Yeo, age 54. With them are their sons Frederick Yeo (age 22, a stockman) and William Yeo (19, an office boy) and their daughter Jessie Yeo (12).
Elizabeth died in Chicago in 1905. William himself lived until 1911 and died in Texas, possibly at the home of his son Thomas Buren Yeo (1870–1945, named after his grandfather).
Thomas Buren Yeo senior had married Clarissa Rydon at Seneca Falls, New York in 1836. He was a descendant of Richard Yeo and Petronella Tossell, whose other family lines have been studied.
