Thomas Yeo – stationer’s assistant

Please read About Individuals before using any of the information on this page.

The 1841 census records a Mary Eastman living in Cheapside in east London (in the parish of St Mary le Bow, Middlesex). Her age is given as 42 and her occupation as stationer.

Also in Mary’s household are Grace Yeo (age 38, of independent means), servant Ellen Welch (age 22), and stationer’s assistants Thomas Yeo and James Waldren (both 24). It is unusual for exact ages to be given in the 1841 census, as the ages of most adults were rounded to the nearest five years. None of the people listed except Ellen were born in Middlesex.
