The 1891 census return for Arlington shows 26-year-old William Yeo farming at Huckham, a short distance east of the village. He is listed with his wife Ellen Yeo and daughter Annie T. Yeo. His widowed mother-in-law Elizabeth Tucker, a domestic servant and two farm labourers complete the household.
William Yeo (1865–1898) and Ellen Tucker had married in 1886. Their daughter Annie Tucker Yeo had been born in 1890; they later had sons Frank (1892), Henry (1893) and William (1897). Another son, John George Yeo, died as an infant.
William’s Yeo line does not appear to have been studied in any detail. His parents may have been Henry Yeo and Ann Barrow, who are shown in a pedigree drafted by Sheila Yeo in 1995, tentatively linked to Yeos in Swimbridge. That is the only clue we presently have.
William’s daughter Annie Tucker Yeo married Frederick Tucker in 1914; his son Frank Yeo married Ada Fry in 1925 and his son Henry Yeo married Eva Reed in 1917.
