The Leader – a newspaper published in Orange, New South Wales – carried in its personal column a brief report on 6 April 1928 of a marriage that had taken place the previous day: A pretty wedding was celebrated at St Andrew’s Memorial Church, Dubbo, on Thursday, when Helen, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Gavel of ‘Boothenba’, was married to Leslie, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Yeo, of ‘Aldersyde’, Elong Elong.
John Leslie Yeo (1895–1968) was the second of seven children of John Walters Yeo and Mary Jane Douglas, who married in New South Wales in 1890.
John Walters Yeo was the eldest son of John Yeo and Ellen Walters.
