Frederick Thomas Yeo and Emily Lilian Davis Prouse née Vanstone

The 1939 Register lists 31-year-old Frederick T. Yeo at 2 Woodbine Cottages in Victoria Street, Barnstaple. His occupation is recorded as ‘commercial motor driver’. Listed with Frederick is 37-year-old Emily L. Yeo, occupation ‘unpaid domestic duties’. Although the layout appears as would be expected for a married couple [note 1], Frederick and Emily were not married until later.

Frederick Thomas Yeo was born at Arlington in 1907, the youngest of five children of Thomas Yeo and Jessie Ellen Shapland [note 2]. He died in 1987.

Emily Lilian Davis Vanstone (1902–1986) was born at Poughill in central Devon, and married Sydney Prouse in 1920. This relationship had presumably ended by the time the 1939 Register was taken; Sydney died in 1962, leaving Emily free to marry Frederick Thomas Yeo, which she did in 1963.

Frederick and Emily had two sons:
– David Henry Yeo (1939–2006)
– Rodney Douglas Yeo (1945–2002).
