David Yea (1618–1686) was the youngest of six children of David Yea (1578–1658) and Jane Allen. His wife Mary Hobbes (buried 1724 at Wiveliscombe) was the eldest of four children of Thomas Hobbes and Mary Battyn of Stogursey.
