James Yeo was baptised at Stratton in 1705, the fourth son of Robert Yeo and Rose Cory and a grandson of John Yeo and Martha Hambling.
James married Honor Cornish at Kilkhampton in 1728. They had five children:
– William Yeo (1729–1797, married Mary Gent, two children)
– Rose Yeo (baptised 1731, married Thomas Bailey)
– Honor Yeo (baptised 1734, married John Rad)
– James Yeo
– Grace Yeo (baptised 1740, married John Furse).
Following Honor’s death in 1741, James married Martha Robbins and had three further sons:
– Philip Yeo
– John Yeo (1772–1778)
– Thomas Yeo (see below).
James was buried at Kilkhampton in 1793.
Thomas Yeo (1778–1865, son of James Yeo and Martha Robbins) married Mary Heddon. They lived at Lee Wood, Morwenstow and baptised their eight children at Kilkhampton:
– Betsy Yeo (baptised 1806)
– Mary Yeo (baptised 1808)
– Thomas Yeo (baptised 1810)
– John Yeo (baptised 1814)
– Philip Yeo (baptised 1817)
– Rhoda Yeo (see below)
– Flora Yeo (baptised 1822)
– Martha Yeo (baptised 1826).
Rhoda Yeo (1820–1907, daughter of Thomas Yeo and Mary Heddon) married Charles Pippett. They had six children, including:
– Mary Jane Pippett (1848–1933, married Thomas Yeo [note 1])
– Thomas Yeo Pippett (1853–1934, married Mary Jordan).
