John Hocking married Mary Ann Webb Yeo in Plymouth in 1842. John was originally from Camborne; Mary was baptised at Plymstock in 1814 as Mary Ann Webb Yow [note 1].
The 1851 census records John and Mary at 17 Smith Street, Stoke Damerel with an eight-year-old daughter. Nothing further is known about them.
