This couple married at the parish church of St James, Islington in 1870.
Sheila recorded their marriage, and suggested that Edward had been born at Hoxton in 1847. Examination of the 1901 census, as described below, confirms that Sheila was correct regarding his year and place of birth, though she was unable to link the family to any of the Yeo lines she had researched. Subsequent research [note 1] has identified Edward’s parents as William Yeo and Mary Ann Brooker.
Edward and Rosina had five sons and a daughter:
– Edward Yeo (1872–1923, married Elizabeth Eliza Rutterford)
– Henry Yeo (see under Daniel Edward Yeo and Elsie Beatrice Proudman)
– Charles Yeo (see under William Boyd Yeo)
– William Yeo (born 1877)
– Alfred Yeo (born 1879)
– Rosina Elizabeth Yeo (born 1882, married Edward William Alfred Skilton 1906).
In 1891, Edward and Rosina were living in the Regents Park area of London.
Ten years later, the 1901 census records them at 61 Lady Margaret Road, a turning off Leighton Road in Kentish Town. Edward is a 53-year-old civil servant working at the India Office, with his birthplace shown as Hoxton. Edward’s wife Rosina E. is 50 and was born at Enfield. With them are their sons Edward (age 28, a salesman of fancy goods), William (27, a dyer and cleaner), Henry (23, a fitter for a gas fire and coke company) and Alfred (21, a dyer and cleaner).
Edward died in 1923. Rosina died in 1929.
