This line has caused researchers a number of problems. An investigation of it by Sheila Yeo in 2001 was inconclusive.

The parish register for Parkham records the marriage there of Philip Yeo (c1745–1829) and Catherine Bagland in 1766. They baptised six children in the same parish before Catherine’s death in 1784:
– John Yeo (baptised 1767, died as an infant)
– Elizabeth Yeo (baptised 1768)
– John Yeo (baptised 1771)
– Ann Yeo (baptised 1774)
– Mary Yeo (baptised 1776, died as an infant)
– William Yeo (see below)
Philip married his second wife Susanna Dean at Parkham in 1794 and baptised further children there:
– Philip Yeo (see below)
– Mary Yeo (baptised 1791).

William Yeo (1778–1868, son of Philip Yeo and Catherine Bagland) married Jane Collins at West Down in 1805. They had eight children [note 1], including:
– John Williams Yeo (see below)
– Jane Bryant Yeo (born c1813).

Philip Yeo (baptised 1789 at Parkham, son of Philip Yeo and Susanna Dean) married Frances Peat. They baptised five children at Parkham:
– Robert Yeo (1825–1886, baptised as Robert Peeke Yeo, married Susannah Williams and Adelaide Davies) [note 2]

– Susannah Yeo (baptised 1829)
– Philip Thomas Yeo (1835–1912, married Emma Westcott) [note 3]

John Williams Yeo (third son of William Yeo and Jane Collins) was born about 1904 [note 5]. He married Constantia Powell Moore at Plympton St Mary parish church in 1834; they had four children [note 6]:
William John Yeo
– Constantia Elizabeth Yeo (1837–1911, married Foster Henry Grinyer)

Notes
1. The baptisms of these children appear to have taken place at Maker and Milbrook, to the west of Plymouth, and not all to have been infant baptisms – so their births cannot be dated accurately.
2. The 1881 census for Newport, Monmouthshire records Robert and Adelaide at 13 Blewitt Terrace; Robert is 58 and is working as a milkman, and Adelaide’s mother Susannah Davies is listed with them. Adelaide’s death was registered at Newport in 1914.
3. Children Bessey Yeo (born 1860) and William Henry Yeo (born 1868).
4. Baptised as Maria Yeo.
5. Confirmation of date of birth required – approximate year from 1861 census, see note 3. Death registration not found.
6. The 1861 census for Plymouth records John as a 57-year-old wine merchant born at Maker. His wife Constantia is 52 and their daughters Constantia and Emma Jane are listed with them.
