Yeo Simmons and Catharine Griswold

Please read About Families before using any of the information on this page.

The marriage of Yeo Simmons and Catharine Griswold took place in 1797 at Holy Trinity parish church in Coventry.

The death of 75-year-old weaver Yeo Simmons was registered at Coventry in 1849 [note 1]. This would suggest that he was about 23 years old when he married.

It looks as though Yeo Simmons was living in London between these dates. The 1841 census return for Bowling Green Walk in Shoreditch records him there, age 65 [note 2]. His occupation and that of the other three people in the household is recorded as ‘Lamp Cotton M’, an activity that might have been connected with the manufacture of lamp shades or mantles.
